Chambers and Partners is one of the most influential legal rankings in the world. A recommendation in Chambers Europe is based on an in-depth analysis of the matters handled, interviews with clients and assessments by independent lawyers.
ZMW Legal’s recognition in Dispute Resolution: Corporate & Commercial confirms its position as a firm to which clients turn with their most difficult corporate disputes. In this year’s edition the firm moved up a band – the result of several years of consistent work by the team.
Individual recognition for ZMW Legal lawyers
Chambers Europe recognised two of the firm’s lawyers individually:
- Professor Anna Zawadzka – retained her Band 1 position, with a description highlighting her “unique combination of academic knowledge and practical skill in the most difficult corporate disputes”.
- Piotr Mrowiec – moved up to Band 2, recognised for his “exceptional effectiveness in matters concerning management liability and disputes between shareholders”.
“ZMW Legal stands out for its ability to conduct extremely complex corporate disputes with precision and determination. Clients are impressed by their strategic approach from the very planning stage of a dispute.”
– Chambers and Partners, 2024 editionRanking methodology
The Chambers Europe ranking is based on surveys sent to several thousand lawyers and their clients across Europe. The assessment covers, among other things, the quality of services, client approach, innovation and, above all, the actual results achieved in cases.
Firms are assessed independently by Chambers researchers and assigned to four bands (Band 1 being the highest) or to the “Recognised Practitioner” category. ZMW Legal has been listed in the ranking continuously for several years.
Context and significance
The recognition coincides with another record year for ZMW Legal’s Dispute Resolution practice. In 2023–2024 the firm handled more than a dozen cases worth over PLN 50 million each, most of which were won for the client at first instance.
The cases highlighted by Chambers included management liability proceedings in listed companies, shareholder expulsion disputes and interim relief proceedings of unprecedented scope.
The firm’s comment
Professor Anna Zawadzka, Managing Partner of ZMW Legal: “The Chambers Europe recognition confirms that our strategy – deep specialisation and an uncompromising approach to every case – delivers results not only for our clients, but is also noticed by the market. We are proud of the whole team.”
